Best Nightlife in South America?

Question

I'm traveling to South America for three months beginning in February. I'm planning to visit all of the Amazon and Macchu Picchu and the Andes - but would also like to enjoy the best nightlife South America has to offer. I'm 24, a gringo, straight and traveling alone. I'm thinking of Santiago, Lima, Quito (sp?), Buenos Aires, Rio, ect. If possible, please give me some advice on which cities I shouldn't miss. Thanks for your help!

Santiago, Cartagena, São Paulo and Buenos Aires would be the best choices for the nightlife in South America.

Andres Carne de Res in Bogota. Anywhere inside the walled city in Cartagena. Buenos Aires rates, also.

I have partied in Lima, Ica, Cuzco, Santiago and Mendoza. Of these I would recommend Lima (Calle de las Pizzas), Cuzco and Mendoza. Santiago is ok, but expect more drinking and less dancing. Also, drinking is really expensive in Chile. Especially compared to Peru.
