Coming to Philly for the weekend for the first time. where should I get an authentic philly cheesesteak. I have heard that ginos, Patsy's, and Tony Lukes are all good. I appreciate any feedback.

  1. The best Philly's cheesesteak is at Big Mike's. but its in LA, CA.

  2. Try one everywhere everyday

they may be slightly similar but well worth it

  3. Pat's and Geno's both suck. Tony Lukes all the way!!!!

  4. Gotta go to TONY LUKES

  5. PAT'S! Whiz with!

    So good.

  6. Geno's and Pat's have seen better days. If you go to Geno's, there are signs telling you that you must be able to order in English. I haven't been to TL's, but I heard they suck, and my husband didn't like the food he had there. IMO, the BEST is Jim's at 4th and South. (There are also locations in the Overbrook section of the city --the original-- and in a nearby town called Springfield.) Welcome, enjoy your food and have fun.

  7. You should try Dalessandro's. They have really good philly cheesesteaks. Although Gino's is good too.

  8. Definitely Pat's, and one I haven't seen on the board yet is Larry's. It's right across from St. Joe's University. As a graduate who frequented there late nights, I can tell you their steaks are divine :)

  9. Tony Luke's on Orgen Ave. The best!

  10. go to gino's. my brother only goes there when he's in philly.

  11. There are actually a lot of places to get a good cheesesteak. I like Tony Luke and Steve's King of Steaks. But a lot of neighborhood shops have good one's too. Go buy a bunch of steaks and have a tasting party with your traveling buddies.  For a great chicken cheesesteak though, go to Ishkabibble's on South Street. They make it with fresh chicken breast...YUM!!
