Best Place to visit in Europe?

Question

My wife and I would like to take two weeks off work and travel to Europe. What city is a must see?

--I'm an American, and I want to see something very different. Something not too westernized. I was thinking of someplace less traveled by the average American tourist.

--I love historic towns

--I don't mind if it may be a little dangerous, as that would just make it more exciting to me.

ITALY- is a romantic place, so serene with lots of scenic places. the food is excellent and the natives are hospitable.

GREECE- the place is the contrast of the old and the new. it has lots of historic places, the PARTHENON is one of them. with white sandy beaches, the place is clean, dining palces are plenty and the wines are superb. but i have to remind you that this is an expensive place.

Go to mecca & Saudi arabia as they are really interesting places to visit because they are not "tourist traps".
