My kid of 10 yrs.and his mother will soon be in Chicago. Please

guide me as to which places they must see there. They will stay

in Chicago 3 days only. If possible, give some information on good but not very expensive hotels also. Thanks a lot indeed.

  1. I used to really love going to the "Shedd  Aquarium"---the "Museum of Natural History"---and the "Museum of Science and Industry".

they are convenient to get to right on "Lake Shore Drive."

Perhaps someone else may be able to recommend some good places to stay---sorry I cannot because it was only an hours drive each way for me.

  2. For a 10 Yr Old, The Field Museum may be the best bet,  The Dinosaurs are Awesome.  But the Notebart Nature Museum is also good for a short day and the Butterflies are really cool.  Hope you have fun!!!

  3. Some places to see: The Museum of Science & Industry, Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Navy Pier (free fireworks), Lincoln Park Zoo (free), John Handcock Observatory...maybe take in a Cubs game.  An architecture cruise like the Wendella Boats on Michigan & Wacker.

As far as hotels, right now rates in even the nice hotels are really low if you go through a discount hotel site like orbitz.com, expedia.com or hotels.com.  I work at a hotel right in the Loop and people were getting rates under a hundred dollars via those sites.

Check out the Monac or Hyatt Regency maybe.

  4. Take the kid to the Shedd Aquarium or go to Navy Pier.
