  1. Ryan Howard has the second-best AB/HR ratio of all-time (except he doesn't qualify for career rate statistics yet) with 11.76.  This would put him ahead of Babe Ruth (11.80), Barry Bonds (12.90), and the closest active player, Jim Thome (13.60).

Sadly, however, he is an all-or-nothing player in the mold of Adam Dunn.  He actually has a lower slugging percentage than Albert Pujols, Manny Ramirez, and Alex Rodriguez.  Howard's most mind-blowing statistic, in my mind, is this:

    Howard:

    Strikeouts: 633

    At-bats: 1870         (That's one every 2.95 at-bats. . .unbelievable)

    Pujols

    Strikeouts: 487

    At-bats: 4392      (One ever 9.02 at-bats)

If Howard plays until he's 40, he will set the strikeout record in unreachable territory.

Also, I think Pujols was a glaring omission from this bracket.

  2. I thought this said "Best Power Hitler."

  3. The poll dont lie.  Howard is inded the true winner.

He hit 22 homers in his first 88 games of his offical rookie year.  Thats 1 homer every 4 games.  Then he follows that up with 58 homers, then with 47.  And now at 107 games, he has 30 homers.  On his way to another 40 homer year.  159 homers in what can be seen as 3 and a half seasons.  Thats averging about 48 a year.  Hes so young and still has much to learn.  Already penciled in as a contender for the Home Run Title.  Power Man of the Century!

  4. The poll was right Howard is the best power hitter with A-Rod a close second surprised Utley made it ahead of Manny unless you consider the position he plays...also surprised the Prince is so lowly rated

  5. I thought a power hitter was all around and had thier BA over 300?.....That phrase is confused with "Homerun Hitters"

Power Hitters on the otherhand are players like Justin Morneau
