    Invasor

  2. 1.  Invasor

    2.  Ghostzapper - won races from 6 furlong sprint to 1 1/4 miles.  Holds record for fastest Breeder's Cup Classic (1:59.02), 2004 Horse of the Year (beating Smarty Jones in votes 174-95), World's Top Ranked Horse in 2004.

Ghostzapper earned a 128 Beyer Speed rating in the Philip  Iselin on a sloppy track.  It's the highest ever recorded around 2 turns and one of the fastest Beyers ever recorded. Won 9 of 11 starts.

    3.  Curlin

  6. perhaps you should say in your question...... the best horses from America in the last ten years! as you have only American horses listed!

i hope you do realise some of the best race horses are bred and raced out side of America!

anyway my best racehorse of the last ten years is a 9yo sprinter still racing, he's won group1 or (grade1) races in 4 different countries his name Takeover target.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takeover_Ta...

    still racing still winning!

    he's also my avatar!

  7. 1. Barbaro

    2.Curlin

    3.Hard Spun

    4.Afleet Alex

    5.Smarty Jones

  8. 1. Point Given (dont know what happened at churchill downs, or even if he'd have won considering the show Monarchos put on, but what performances at Pimlico and the Belmont)

    2. Smarty Jones

    3. Curlin

    4. Funny Cide (better horse than given credit for)

    5. Afleet Alex ( I swear the jockey turned around a told those other guys he'd see them at the finish line! lol)

  9. Fusiachi Pegasus was good too.

Out of those five, I remember Barbaro as being particularly dominant.

  10. 1. Eight Belles

    2. Barbaro

    3. Rags to riches

    4. Big Brown

    5. Lava Man

  11. Here's my list (although there are too many to make a short list):

    1. Curlin - U.S. Horse of the Year, won Breeder's Cup Classic, won biggest race in Dubai.

    2. Benny the Bull - as far as sprinters go, he's number one even though he didn't do so well in the Breeder's Cup (I can't blame him for not liking the muddly conditions).  He won a huge purse at Dubai and he's won his last 4 races (all of which were Stakes races.)

    3. Afleet Alex - the way he composed himself after almost falling on his knees shows extreme athleticism.

    4. Smarty Jones - almost won the triple crown and just seems like he has a good disposition.

    5. Barbaro - we don't know how good he would have been but he did go into the Preakness undefeated and his spirit and intelligence could be seen from his behavior after his accident.

    6. Evening Attire (I don't know any other ten year old horses who are still running in and placing in stakes races.  He just came in second in the Grade 2 Brooklyn Handicap, beating the favorite).

  12. 1. Barbaro

    2. Lava Man

    3. Curlin

    4. Hard Spun

    5. Rags to Riches

  13. 1. Evening Attire (I love his willing to run even at 10 years old and when he usually gets off to a walking start he comes back and comes in first or second!)

2.Curlin (break Cigar's all time money earning record!)

3.Lava Man (3 time Hollywood Gold Cup Champ and once a claiming horse)

    4.Silver Charm

    5. Tiznow

  14. Tiznow, TiznoW, TiznOw, TizNow, TiZnow, TIznow, Tiznow, tiznow... oh and........ TIZNOW!

    (you know, DaTara's dad!)

  15. Ouija Board was a fantastic filly who won Group 1 events in Europe as well as Gr. 1 events in America (including the Breeders Cup Fillies & Mares Turf)...Dubai Millenium was a fabulously fast Colt owned by Godolphin Stables who defeated the worlds best older colts & geldings in the worlds richest horse race, The Dubai World Cup, before passing away very early after siring only one crop of foals.

  16. 1 Curlin

    2 Barbaro

    3 Afleet Alex

    4 Smarty Jones

    5 Eight Bells

  17. 1. Point Given...won 4 million dollar races in a row, no other horse has ever done that.  Dominated the Preakness and Belmont after losing the Derby on a freaky fast day.

    2. Lost in the Fog...dominating sprinter who Won grade one races while carrying a tumor the size of a football!!  RIP Champ!

    3. Smarty Jones...if he could only have settled on the backstretch at Belmont??????

    4. Azeri....how can everyone forget the greatest fillie since Lady's Secret?

    5. Invasor...11 wins in 12 starts, including the Dubai World Cup and Breeders Cup Classic.

Honorable Mention (in no particular order)

Ghostzapper...great speed and could hold it out to Classic Distances

    Barbaro...what could have been?

Afleet Alex.....possibly the most athletic horse we have ever seen

    Tiznow.....Two Breeders Cup Classic wins

Curlin.....Breeders Cup Classic, Dubia World Cup, Preakness
