  1. look for the highest mAh. (milliamp per hour)

these are usually made for cameras and will last ages.

also you want NI-MH. (nickel-metal hydride.)

NOT ni-cad(nickel-cadmium) these have a memory effect. (not good)

  2. i use uniross which lasted me for 4months or more now.

it got  1300mah and i got it for £10 or less with 4 AA batteries from asda.

  3. energizers are great ! I have them in all of the clocks and remotes in our house. 5 TVs and  4 clocks! love them they last great charge back up fast

  4. I agree - Energizers are excellent! I use the 2500 mAh ones in my digital camera which normally eats batteries!

I've tried Sony, Duracell and Fuji and none of them lasted very long.

  5. I use Uniross, Energizer and Ansmann AA Nimhs and have been doing so for years.I'd say Energizer is 1st place and the other 2 a close second.

I'd use an intelligent charger to charge them: that way they don't over charge. The really cheap chargers you see are manual, i.e. you have to pull them out of the wall, so not a good idea unless the batteries are completely flat. These chargers wil always give a full charge, which is not good if you just want to top them up.
