My landlord has mandated that we need to have a renters insurance. But as I study them, the reviews call most of the insurance companies not worth it. Wanted to know in your personal opinion, which one would be good for the simplest coverage.

  1. I'm not sure what reviews but you should take any review with a grain of salt.

Contact your auto insurance agent. Most auto companies also write renters' insurance and you'll get a multi-line discount. The amount you save on your auto insurance with the discount will usually pay for the renters' policy, you'll be better protected, and the landlord will be happy.

  2. I'm not sure what you are reading that is telling you renters insurance is "not worth it".  can you afford to replace EVERYTHING you own if there was a total loss such as a fire?  think about it...EVERYTHING from your TV to your underwear?  most people can't.  renters insurance is written on replacement value so if you DID lose it, its replaced at todays cost.  it also allows you liability coverage, so if ANYTHING happens you can be held liable for , you have coverage.  the best part. ITS CHEAP!!!!  if you rent, get some!
