Try looking at some of the restaraunts on that website. Those are located in Georgetown, which is right near the heart of the city. You can eat overlooking the beautiful Potomac River.

There is no shore or lake in Washington, DC, just a riverfront in Georgetown and in parts of Southwest.  And the restaurants there are more about the view than about the food.

Definitely River Front of Georgetown at the foot of 30th and K.  There are about 6 different restaurants from Savannas to Tommy Joes and a few others.  Also A great place for Sunday brunch overlooking the Potomac is at the Kennedy Center on top floor with balcony walk.  Pretty cool!

In Old Town Alexandria, Va. There is Chart House - it sits snuggled on the Pier. You'll have a beatiful scenic view of the The Potomac Ocean, the pier, boaters & people taking strolls. Dinner cruises leaving from the Waterfront also cruises by this restaurant. When making reservation;be sure to inquire about a window seat.,

There are no lakes in D.C.  There is the Waterfront complex in Georgetown that overlooks the Potomac River.  It has many selections.  Good luck.
