Best STFU moment during your divorce interactions with ex, ex's family, court, etc?

STFU- Shut The Freak Up [ you can also subsitute "Freak" for something rhyming with buck]

Like when you caught the soon to be ex doing something (or someone) he/she absolutely said he/she wasn't doing and this helped your case big time.

Or proved to the soon to be ex-in-laws what a scum/s***k their child really is. Bonus if the ex-inlaws then started siding with you!

Or you make allot of money with some deal that the soon to be ex always said was stupid and never wanted to do.

Or you won the lottery the day after the divorce was final, etc, etc, etc

  1. This is not really an "EX Situation"....

My husband was being sued for praternity 6 years ago by a woman he had a one night stand with when he was the tender age of 16 (she was 20)...

So, we had been married for 5 years when he got this letter that stated he was being sued....It was a shock - especially when we learned that the child was 13!

We go to court and the woman and her common law husband are complete white trash. I say this because the State only came after my husband because her and her common law husband were scam artists who collected welfare....And had their own business on the side.

So - she was requesting BACK child support for this child we never knew anything about...Never had to benefit of raising. She claimed that she "dated" my hsuband and he (and his family)  turned his back on her (yeah, right)

We set up another court date. Several of his family members showed up but we did not speak to one another. We sectioned ourselves out and pretended to be strangers....So, our attorney starts questioning her...Asks why she wants back pay. She vehemently claims that he and his family knew about the baby and that my mother in law told her to abort (My MIL would NEVER tell anyone to do this). Our attorney asked again if she is standing behind her allegations. She said yes. Then he explained that 8 family members were present: My husband's mother, grandmother, two brothers and a few cousins...

.....Needless to say, she changed her story and lost her back child support claim. The Attorney General's office told us that they knew she was lying about everything but it was up to us to prove this.

Being caught in her lies and seeing the look of shame on her face was PRICELESS :)

  2. Yeah. When my ex was stupid enough to bring his girlfriend to my child's daycare 3 days after he had left us...Made it very easy to say "ADULTERY"... He had always said she wasn't his type, that she was too fat, etc. Now she trapped him by getting pregnant after 3-4 months. HAHAHAHAHHAA.

  3. I got a big kick out of my husband’s ex gf’s explanations as to why she should be the only parent allowed to care for HER child. She sought my husband out for child support after 2 yrs, never even mentioned she was pregnant or had his child until she needed money. And when she came to us, we took her to court so my husband could stop living under her rules and have legal visitation and pay legal child support. When our lawyer asked her why she felt it was “fair” for us to have the little girl 1 holiday and her have them the rest, for us to see her once a month and she have her the rest (when we live 10 mins apart) her reason was, “Well because it’s always been me and my daughter”.

Which just made it even more clear she was simply only there to collect money…

Sometimes all you can do is shake your head.

I’m sorry, but I just had to post another that popped into my mind.

She says she ALWAYS knew it was my husband’s child. She still swears to this day. Yet when asked why she put another man on the BC, why she had another man raising her child for 2 yrs, why she gave this little girl the other man’s last name,  when she “knew” it was someone else’s child all along.

I don’t recall that she ever responded but I do recall the look on her face. LOL!

Again, all you can do is shake your head!

  4. The ex once brought his second wife to court with him, she went off in the courtroom, and the judge shut her off..such foolishness on her part and his..they proved themselves right in front of the judge..people were laughing at them too..I just had to place my hands over my mouth to stop myself from laughing..it was so funny
