I'm a first year Pharm D student and I am required to get a PDA for school. I've been lookin into some smart phones to get instead of the PDA. A lot of the top rated smart phones are blackberrys and I wanted to know if the OS(Operating System) on the blackberry is compatible with a lot of the drug software out there and other programs used by health care professionals. Any info or personal experience you can give me is greatly appreciated. Thanks

  2. You might want to speak to some of the other students who have been using their PDAs to find which brands and models are working for them with the programs you will need.  The largest PDA operating systems are Windows Mobile,  Palm OS, Symbian OS and Blackberry; look at the software you will be using and which of these those programs work with to help narrow your choices.  The main attraction to Blackberry is it's ability to get corporate emails and the fact that RIM sells the servers to large corporations to allow them to get the emails sent without worrying about firewalls so this might not suit your needs.
