What is the best South American country to live in for June, July and August. Considering weather, quality of life, adventures, people, and entertainment. I would like to leave the US in the hot months and go somewhere in South America where the weather is cooler, more comfortable, etc.

  1. Bogota, Colombia is the place you are looking for.  The only drawback will be if you have altitude problems.  The average daytime temperature in Bogota is in the 60's and at night it is in the upper 40's.  That is for every month, it doesn't matter when.  The city is very large, about 8-9 million, and has all of the things you will want.  Peru will be less expensive, but you might find that the quality of life is not quite what you would find in Bogota.  I have visited 5 times in the past two years and I love the place.  I have been to Peru too.  I liked it, but Lima is not as nice as Bogota, in my opinion.  Learn some spanish and go for it.  Brazil has many beautiful places but most of them will be warm even in June, July, and August.  Check out the weather at www.weatherbase.com. and then make up your mind.

  2. as far as weather Bogota,  the weather never changes there is always in the 60's is a very big city full with culture and entertainment, as far of quality of live is quite good if you have a dollar income, everything would seem pretty cheap to you a nice meal for 2 in 5 star restaurant will run you  around 15 -20 dollars a full time maid (live in maid ) will cost you 200 or less a month , and keep in mind the housing in Bogota is designed with maid quarters  as far as adventures there is plenty to do, not only in the city but around the country just steer away from the amazon part which is on the south 2 hour trip by plane from bogota, that is the only area where is dangerous, but besides that , a 45 minute drive up or down the Andes , can change the weather to colder , or hotter

bogota , has a lot to offer as a city , is a big city , more than 10 million people in the metro area, and is larger than NYC in land , so there is much to do and see

if you like bikes and out doors you will love Bogota, it has the largest , bike pad road system in the world , this bike paths called cicllo rutas run trough out  the city

if you have any particular questions let me know

But if you want a great traveling experience I would say do a tour...travel all around south america..by plane, bus.etc...you might find a place you like and end up staying loger...

    good luck

  5. I agree with the two posters for Bogota.

The city is cheverre. I have lived here for the past two years and love it. Only problem is the altitutde for me. Takes me a day or so to get used to it.

Other than that, you'll love it here. Bring a light to medium jacket. Lately the days are nice enough to walk around wearing short sleeve shirts and has been sunny. Evening rolls around and you need a light jacket to cut the chill. Some of the clubs have outdoor seating and have space heaters so it is not a problem.

    GOD I LOVE THIS COUNTRY!!!!!!!
