Question:

Best South Florida Beach?

I'm debating which beach has the best waves, because I went to Hillsboro today and it was amazing, the swells were well big enough for skimboarding. However, this was my first time at the beach, and a friend of mine who went to Dania said the waves were also very good, so I dunno if it was a fluke, or what. Now I'm wondering what IS the best beach in terms of wave size? Any help would be appreciated. I'm looking at beaches that are around half an hour from Sunrise.

  1. Hollywood Beach, just north of Hallandale,  There is a large commercial complex right near the sand and there is always something going on. The atmosphere is very lively, and all the while, the area is surprisingly clean for the high foot traffic that goes through it each day. This is the place that gave meaning to "fun in the sun", and it is a major hot spot for locals and tourists on the weekends, so expect a crowd.

Dania Beach can be best described as the average beach. Vacant and unfinished construction projects dot the background, but the sand and water are the some of the cleanest in South Florida.
