Best State to buy a house?

My husband and I have been looking for a house for awhile now. We haven't been having any luck in our area on the budget the bank gave us. We live in Kentucky and we are looking for a house around $74,000-$80,000. We have looked at condo's but they are mostly just 2 bedrooms. Since we have 2 children we would really like a 3 bedroom. A condo would work if we could just find a 3 bedroom.

For the budget the bank gave us all we seem to be finding is junk. When I say junk, I mean, no wonder no one lives there! We are looking for a starter home, and something that will help our money situation. We have always done apartment living and now it is just getting too expensive! Why pay $810 a month for something you don't even own!

  1. I think the best state for Real Estate is Texas. Their prices are fair for the economy and the homes are very nice. You just need to watch the interest rates as they are climbing. Even a $75,000 to $100,00 home could cost you $800 to $1000 a month.

Kentucky is a beautiful state to live in, but the areas in which you are looking may not be the most liveable for a family. I recommend you look in maybe a little higher priced area for a home that is either bank owned or forclosing. You may get a better price if this is where you define your search. When you find a home that you very interested in, pay an inspector to go through the house with you and verify the house is liveable and in good repairs. This is very important with bank owned or forclosures.

  2. Tulsa, Oklahoma, fastly growing city and you can purchase a new construction house for around 100,000. I recently purchased my first home in Tulsa for 85,000 in midtown Tulsa. 3 bedrooms 1 full bath and 1 car garage with large yard. Check out www.SellerofDreams.com or www.CBRaderGroup.com. Check out the city of Tulsa, Jenks or Broken Arrow. Good luck house hunting!

  3. The area around Eureka Springs Arkansas is well worth your looking into. We are leaving Texas. (Too hot and getting very expensive.)
