What is everyone's opinion on the best subs available. I was looking at JL W3s but I was curious of what other people like and think are the best ones.

  1. depends you looking for spl or sound quality for sound quality jl is good but way over priced for spl there a freakin joke dont even look at jl audio if i could have any subwoofer it would be a hard choice digital designs holds the record for having the loudest subwoofer and they make great subs some of the best ive ever herd re audio makes great subs too some of the best i just got an re sx 15 and i love it id pick it over 2 jl w7s any day because its just as loud and i only paid 150 for it fi subs are good the btls are crazy loud and sundown just released a new sub the night shade looks like its gonna be a big spl name soon they already make some of the best amps around and the mojo max 15 is an insane subwoofer and so is the soundstream xxx15 it can take something like 6400 rms but thats just my opinion

  2. You have to decide on the type of music, and bass you listen to. From a MECP advanced installer standpoint, I would reccommed either the Alpine Type-R, or Type-X both with DVC for rock. They are both great subs, and an awsome sub for the price. I also like the MTX Sledghammer's for heavier bass, like rap & JL, for a good mix of both.

  3. My personal opinion is square subs, kicker or mtx i'm told they both good.  if you get a 10" square supposibly the same as 12" round. and they look way kooler.  if you got deep pockets get kicker solox subs

  4. lets see, a 200$ JLW3 running like 250-300 rms

Pioneer Premier $129, 2 year warranty, 400 rms

    do the math...

For an unlimited amount of money you can get all kinds of answers from Alpine to my personal favorite Treo ssi.

But realisticly, what sub gives you the most sound possible, at a reasonable power, at a reasonable price.

If you are looking to get the subs and amp at a reasonable price, Pioneer Premier sound great, good range in the power and price to rms is excelent.

Some of the answers below mine involve $500 per sub and a 400-700 $ amp.  thats a whole lot of beer money down the drain

    hope this helps

  5. For different people different best subs. depends on meny things like taste, power output needed... I like B&C and RCF speakers.
