  1. 1080i

    lcd

  2. It depends on the size of your tv.  If it is less than 50" than you won't notice the difference in resolution from 720p to 1080p.  If you do have a screen larger than that, I would recommend a plamsa because the colors are richer and the image is much smoother.  Plasmas are great for action movies because of this.

But don't take my word for it.  Check out you local consumer electronics store and decide what is best for you and your situation.

    Good Luck!!

  3. Never listen to females when it comes to tv's or electronics in general.

Sony invented Bluray so obviously the best tv for a Bluray player will be Sony Bravia.

Now, depending on the screen size,  it won't really matter if the tv is 720p or 1080p.

40" and lower and 1080p is completely useless. 42" - 47" 1080p MIGHT be worth it. Tv's that are larger than 50" are the only ones that will significantly benefit from 1080p.

  4. LCD by Sony 1080!

The problem with plasma TVs are they burn more energy than a LCD and they don't last as long as a LCD TV.  And plasma usually cost more.

  5. phoenix is wrong, to get the highest quality picture available today, you need a 1080P tv. And there really is no "best" tv, they all have pros and cons. Just look around for yourself on cnet or other technology review sites.
