Julio Cesar - Inter Milan and Brazil: IFFHS awarded Julio Cesar as the third best goalie in the World in 2009. This player is only behind Gianluigi Buffon and Iker Casillas in the list. He was awarded the Serie A goalkeeper of the year award
in 2009 as well.
This award was the result of his amazing saves in Inter Milan that resulted in the team winning the Champions League trophy after a full forty five years.
Julio Cesar is also the starting line up member of the Brazilian national team squad and has won fifty three international appearances.
 
Iker Casillas - Real Madrid and Spain: Iker Casillas is the Spanish Hero; he was the captain of the World Cup winning squad in South Africa and made absolutely incredible saves in the tournament. Spain was able to do what France once did
and they managed to win both the World Cup and the European Championships in a period of four years.
Casillas led the Spanish team to their first European Championship win in the last forty four years and gained his first senior International honour. The goalkeeper also led his team to Spain’s first ever FIFA World Cup final and then won it!
Iker Casillas also won the Golden Glove award in the World Cup which marks him as the Best goalkeeper of the whole tournament.
Iker Casillas is also a player that came into the big leagues as only a teenager and is now recognized worldwide as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe if not the whole world and the numerous awards that he has won stand to accredit this claim.
Iker Casillas started playing for the national team in 1996 for the under fifteens and he is the purest Real Madrid out there. He joined the youth program when he was nine years old and then never left.
He has three hundred and ninety one appearances for Real Madrid and he is only twenty nine years old. He is the captain of the Spanish national team and Real Madrid.
As a goalkeeper are known to have a long career span and can even play till the age of forty. This young player has so many caps under his wing that many football pundits believe that he will set a record so high that no goal keeper would be able to break
for the next hundred years.
