Best Trip to score the fourth success in row through the Tuffx Glass Handicap (Betfair Sprint Flat Series Qualifier)
The Class 4 Tuffx Glass Handicap (Betfair Sprint Flat Series Qualifier) seems to be the highly likely race for taking up the fourth victory slot for the five-year-old bay gelding, Best Trip, who just struck a hat-trick. The six furlong race will be held at Haydock on Thursday, 5th July. Fourteen others will be taking part in the £5,175 event.
Whipper’s bay gelding raced his seasonal debut in the Back Or Lay At Betdaq.Com Handicap on 11th January, 2012 over five furlongs. Cadeaux Pearl won in the field of ten while Best Trip exited the track in the end.
His bad luck dominated the record for the next five races as he continued losing.
However, when the Tereed Elhawa foaled did start winning, he lined up three successes. The five-year-old won the Watch Racing UK On Sky 432 Handicap on 28th May, 2012 at Carlisle over six furlongs.
Riding with Barry McHugh, Best Trip took off confidently from the sixteenth stall, and by the time the last furlong was to go, he headed front but met resistance inside the furlong which he handled by the 2 ¾ length margin.
The favourite of the race, Amazing Win, settled second on the track of fourteen.
Brian Ellison’s under charge then landed the very next race on 21st June, 2012. He declared dominance over the final two and a half lengths of the Commscope Solutions Your Trusted Advisors Handicap at Warwick over seven furlongs.
With the last two furlongs to go, the winner took the lead while towards the rail, and failed the runner-up, Mata Hari Blue, to make any serious impact on the deciding stages of the race.
Finishing third was the favourite entry of the race, Lindoro.
After hitting back-to-back, the five-year-old was entered as the favourite in the  Bet On Euro 2012 At Totepool.Com Handicap on 27th June, 2012 at Carlisle over five furlongs.
He defeated Haajes by three and a half lengths.
Sharing the credit for the hat-trick was the jockey, Barry McHugh, who will get paired up with the Irish gelding again today.
The duo will take off from the third gate and they have raced and won over the same distance before which leaves the 15 to 8 entry with not much choice but to nail the race.
