Question:

Best Villas outside Milan, Italy?

Hello Yahooer's!

Next spring, three of my friends and I are turning 21. We really want to mark the occasion by spending a week in Italy.

Most of our guests are delighted to hear we chose Italy. Ideally we would like a (nice) Villa to house around 15-20 people within easy access of Milan for the evening celebrations.

Please could anyone advise on a nice area where we could accommodate ourselves for the sunshine and seclusion, but with easy access to the city center?

Many Thanks!

  2. Dont you know that Milan is a complete dump?

  3. Milan is not a dump- the most beautiful city in northern Italy by far. Not too far away, Villa Maria is a great place- sits right on the southern edge of Lago di Garda (lake Garda). I think the only problem with it is that its not as close to Milan as you might be looking for.. I stayed there in the summer and I loved it.

Villa Maria is located in Desenzano.

  4. I live in Milan. Your best bet is to check the train destinations that get into: MIlano Centrale or Milano Pta Garibaldi or Milano Cadorna, the two train stations in the centre of the city. There are trains that in 1 hr max go up to Lake Como from Centrale, and some from Cadorna and Garibaldi that go North that way and you can then look for villas next to the stops there.

Alternatively if you will be renting cars, etc I suggest places called Carimate, Cantù, Cermenate, etc where I saw very nice villas or up in Lake Como area :)

    Milan is NOT a dump.
