  1. im not sure what breed it is but from the "yapping" probably a smaller breed/

get a spray bottle ( NOT a old windexbottle please!) go to kmart or even the dollar store and get a spray bottle put it on squirt, every time she yyaps spray her and say NO

add": for gosh sakes you know how terrible it is to get a puppy from a "shop" he came from a puppy mill, congrads.

  2. if you got him at a shop, he's probably crying when he's alone because he's so use to company. don't give in to his crying, even if it seems like he just keeps going and going like the energizer bunny.

teach him that a crate is his pleasent space, some sort of cave he can relax in.. tomorrow, instead of just putting him in there.. lure him in there with a trail of yummy treats.. and when he goes in, happy praises and treat him in the crate. that's how i thought my puppy to love it now it's no big deal for her. practice day or night...

if he still cries, wait for the second he stops... then let him out... then repeat.

the feeding question doesn't make sense. but it's best to feed him premium dog food rather than groccery dog foods.. grocery dog foods have fillers and arent really healthy for the dog in the long run. some premium dog food that is best are wellness, candiae, or natural balance. anything near that or in the same aisle should be good too.

  3. Puppies ALWAYS cry and yap at first when they're crated, but trust me they get used to it and it actually become they're little "safe haven" He'll most likely go in there willingly eventually. DO NOT spray him or do anything negative while he is in there. It's supposed to be a fun restful place for him. Try putting a few of his toys in there, and something of yours that smells like you (old t shirts) and give him a treat and say good boy when you put him in.

  4. you should get him to be comfortable in his crate. Don't put him in it when he's stressed, preferably when he's sleepy and comfortable. Let him get used to it. You should put him in for a while and if he starts yelping, let him. If you take him out he'll learn to control you. When he tires of it, go back to him and give him a bowl of water and hold him in his arms. he needs to know you're not abandoning him and that the crate isn't such a bad thing. Especially giving him lots of petting in the crate. associating good things with the crate will make him want to go in.
