Question:

Best affordable dinner and dance restaurant in toronto?

So i'm looking to take out this girl for a night on the town, and would really like to take her to a dinner and dance type of night. I'm looking for something fancy, but not too fancy, and that is affordable (i'm a student, so i'm buried in debt!).

Does anyone know of anything like that? Maybe something with a live band? I've heard of The Old Mill Inn, but it's a little pricey.

Thanks in advance!

  1. Here's a few suggestions, I hope one is what you are looking for.

    1. Dinner at Le Papillon - French food, nice atmosphere, reasonable price (crepes about $15)

Then over to Resevoir Lounge (across the street) for music and drinks. Live bands nightly (jazz, swing, etc.) basement jazz bar atmosphere, mixed crowd, affordable drinks.

    2. Teatro on College St. It has a patio, DJ and a new executive chef that has revamped the menu recently. Entrees about $25, atmosphere is nice and College St. is always good for a date as there is a young (but not club district young) crowd with a lot going on should you decide to go for a walk.

    3. Dinner at The Kitchen or if you are feeling adventurous Addis Ababa (Ethiopian Cusine) both on Queen West. Both are affordable; Kitchen is modern tapas so you can pick up a couple drinks and a few dishes (maybe not a full meal, it could add up) and enjoy the atmosphere. Addis Ababa is excellent food and the atmosphere though maybe not romantic lends itself to a great date. Dishes are to be shared and it's very conversational as well, if you research the food in advance you could really impress her.

Then I'd walk down the street to the Gladstone Hotel for a night of live music, or another special event (check listings).

I hope that helps a bit, of course there are lots of jazz bars and such but these are a few that I would think would be affordable, fun and memorable.
