Best afl team.?

Hi. I have just decided to follow AFL. Any ideas how to choose a good team to follow?

North Melbourne aka Kangaroos.

If you need a good reason to follow this team you could join the clubs cheer leader team. You would be best suited if you are a girl - but it doesn't really matter if you're not. A couple of our recent recruits could pass as eith male or female. We go under the name of the Buck Teeth Berthas.

Try the Dockers they need all the help they can get and I think in the next few years they will finally live up to their potential and win a premiership.

Have a look at Hawthorn for the following reasons

The club has provided the player of the century Leigh Mathews

The player with the greatest playing record Michael Tuck

Always handy in arguments with friends as to why Hawthorn are the best

They have one of the youngest playing lists in the AFL and are on the rise, came 5th last year and experts reckon they will go better this year.

Have heaps of ex players in the media so you will always hear stories of the club history like grand final wins, big match brawls,funny after match stories etc

Anyway all on this section will be happy you have decided to follow AFL

The correct answer would be Collingwood by far.

Best team players, best coach, most loyal fans, one of the biggest fan bases, the best club house (Lexus Centre).

If you want to get passionate about the sport and the team, then Collingwood is your best bet!  They look after their fans real well ;)

I've only nominated them in case you want to start off with the team who is on top - having won last seasons final.

My advice is that one can't predetermine which team would be the 'best' AFL team.

I'd suggest that you watch a few games & you will be drawn towards a particular team for one reason or another. The fans of a team may put you off; a particular player may put you off; the colours of a team may put you off - there is a multitude of reasons why you may end up following a particular team. Also many reason why you may end up destesting another.

I'd steer clear of Collingwood. They are the biggest under achievers of all time.

i go for essendon and i have my whole life ,

but i would probably advise against it ( gasp shock horror ! ) at the moment , seeing as we have got mattehw knights as the coach and james hird is gone .

it depends on which state you live too ?

if youre melbourne based , demons and the dogs are pretty promising . geelong is great , but thats a bit of bandwagon jumping ?

I barrack for The Western Bulldogs but personally think you should go for a team like Geelong or Collingwood.

Its good to follow a team that is based in your state. (Although not a neccesity) but it does help in regard to fellow fan numbers,home games,merchandise etc etc.

If your a South Aussie like me - Go for Port - their a young team with a lot of potential.

(waiting for someone to mention the grand final though)

If your victorian on the other hand, Id jump ship pretty quick....
