The best (and cheapest) way to go to Yangon from Chennai is to go via Bangkok.  Take a Thai airways flight from Chennai to Bangkok and from Bangkok to Yangon (Thai flies daily from Bangkok to Yangon).   There is another route: via singapore, but may be slightly more expensive than the Bangkok route.
