Best airline to take (from Atlanta to Boston)? Last flight I took, I was a nervous wreck...?

I flew Delta one time from Atlanta to New York and it was a horrific experience. The plane itself wasn't too clean and when we were taking off, the plane shook like crazy. I have traveled across the world several times and flights have NEVER scared me, even when I was little. But when I was on Delta, I was pretty much freaking out, screaming and gripping on to my friend. This time I will travel alone and I am really nervous. What airline has the best services, prices, and overal best quality?

  1. Qantas, but they don't fly between Atlanta and Boston.  :-)

They're all basically the same, and it's a short flight.  I think  your feelings are coming from within yourself and have little to do with which airline you take.

  2. I always fly Alaska. They have great service, and their staff is always helpful for single flyers. Plus, their cushions are nice and comfy, and they have updated all of their older planes to be more luxurious for present day. Idk about price, but I doubt you'll find a good deal on any airlines with gas being how it is and all. Hope this helps!

  3. Airline doesn't decide the turbulence...

I'm not crazy about Delta, my favorite is American Airlines, but it has nothing to do with how much the plane shakes. I've had lost bags, delayed flights, and service issues with Delta and United, but I haven't had any problems with American.  But if it's a bad-weather day, expect a shaky ride, no matter what airline you take.

  4. I like Northwest Airlines but I don't think you can get a direct flight from Atlanta to Boston.  You would most likely need to connect thru Detroit.  If that doesn't bother you, that would be an option.  Best to you on your flight, I hope it's a much better experience!

  5. Pretty much any domestic flight in the US is a safe one.  Go for the best price.   If you cannot deal with delays or cancellations, book a flight early in the day.  If it gets cancelled you will have a better chance getting a later flight.

  6. Every flight we have dealt with in the last couple of years was delayed :-(

  7. I'm not sure about What airlines are the best, but to relax yourself it helps to chew gum before a flight, and it also causes your ears to not pop as much.

  8. Helen,

I fly on Delta a fair amount, and I recommend them. Atlanta has one runway that is sort of rough, and that is probably the one that was used for taking off on your last flight. It is not dangerous, but it does make an aircraft shake, just like your car does on an unsmooth road.

    Regards,

    Dan
