  1. I personnally like the DC-9 series made in long beach California. You know the DC-9-10/20/30/40/50 Mad dog 81/82/83/88/90/95-717 series. The MD-90 was the best one with the V2500 engines. And the wiring problem was for improper wire spacing in the wheel wells no big deal. The worst airplane is anything Airbus!

  2. It is only fair to group these above mentioned airliners in their of categories rather than compare them, each of them were designed for a specific type of market. For example the A320 A321 are comparable to 737 variants or the 777 directly competes with the Airbus A330/A340 for medium haul flights. The Airbus A380 is thought to cut into the 747 monopoly in the future. The DC10, Airbus A300 are today showing their age and most (if not only) used by Cargo operators such as UPS, DHL or Fedex.

The MD series is also not sought after and instead CRJ500 or the ATR 500 are the ones to take their place.

so to pick and choose the best airplane would be like choosing the best tool in your toolbox ! One of them alone cannot serve all purposes & sections of society. One thing you can surely say is the Airbus A320 was the first truly modern and radically different airliner, today that place will probably be shared by the likes of Boeing 787 and the 747-800 alongwith the Airbus A350 and the A380, but the advances behind these came from the experience of the previous generation aircraft.

My personal favourites - Airbus A320 in the short haul journeys and the Boeing 747 in the long haul journey

  3. what do you mean by "best" and worst? they all have advantages

  4. DC-8/A320

  5. Best- 747 ( I prefer 747-400)

    Worst- I don't realy know.  I guess MD-80.

  6. Best and worst WHAT?  Quality?  Reliability?   Safety?  Comfort?  Performance?  What is the criteria?

Of the ones you have listed, I prefer the DC-10, and would take the 717 second, as an MD90 deriv with nicer engines.  I absolutely love how quiet the RR engines are from outside, and the sound from inside is great too.

Worst I would say would be the CRJ700, that from a passenger's perspective.  You don't want the window seat when a fat guy is on the aisle!  *SQUISH*  The ERJ you can at least take the single-seat aisle!

  7. a380

  8. The Best = 747.  Why?  it changed the way we travel, mobilized the generation, and turned our planet into so-called "global village".

The Worst = MD-80.  So-Called "Gentlemen's Agreement" between MD and FAA brought down a bird.

  9. My personal favorite aircraft is the Boeing 777, specifically the 777-300ER. Second favourite is the MD-11

Least favorite is the ERJ-145. The 50 seater RJs are stupid - turboprops are way more efficient and fun!

  10. the best is the 747-400 and I think the worst would be the A380

  11. Thats kind of a silly question.

Nobody is going to argue that a 747 is a better airplane than a Saab 340 to fly from Houston to Dallas in.  On shorter routes none of those listed above would be the best.

On longer routes obviously the 777 is going to be better than the 737 simply because it can go the whole distance and not have to stop for gas twice along the way.

The word "best" is so dependent on what you want your airplane to do.  If you want it to fly 1500 miles and carry 140 passengers, you probably want a 737 or an A320.  If you want it to fly 5000 miles and carry 400 passengers you probably want a 777 or A380.

Airplanes are designed from the beginning to fit into market niches.  Thats why they are not all the same size.  Some of them do different things better than others.  Each airline picks the type it finds to be the best for its operations.

  12. the a-330 is comfort to the max..757...gettin old and kinda scary

  13. None of the above. 727. That's the job that paid me the most.

  14. Best Airplane --- One that flies when you want it to.

Worst Airplane --- One that doesn't
