This is the sub woofer I'm ordering:

Kicker L5 12" Solo-Baric 600w RMS

I have a four door sedan with limited trunk space.

What would be the best Alpine amp I could buy to power this sub for the most SPL?

  1. First, look for a better sub.

The input sensitivity on that sub is only 88dB which is kind of low. Look for a sub with at least 92dB sensitivity if you want SPL.

If you still want to use it, 600 watts RMS @ 1 ohm with the sub wired parallel.

  2. look for an old vintage 35hundred series alpine amp, they show up

on ebay once in a while.

these vintage units used sanken discreet output transistors

and are the benchmark in  durability and quality sound.

any newer alpine products sound best when make a clang hitting

the back of the nearest garbage dumpster.
