  1. If you can take them off the window and place them the bath tub to soak in some warm water with detergent added. When they look clean. let the water drain, and get the shower head off it resting place and rinse the blinds off until there are no more suds. hang to drain and hang back on window when all dripping has stoped. Great to have your son helping you.

  2. take them down in put  them in your bath tub let them soak.

then take a rag in run over them that's my way for simple.

  3. go to target I bought a swiffer duster that goes between the slates it is made for blinds you place the static fuzz thing over the wand and move back and forth it works good.

  4. I recently took mine down (they're vinyl) and filled the tub with dishsoap and threw them in there to scrub, then soak.  Then I took them outside and hosed them off andlayed them to dry on a blanket in the sun.  They looked much better than before, but not 100% clean.

  5. Use a shop vac with the brush attachment to remove all of the loose dust from the blinds while they are still hanging.  Be sure to do both sides closing them both up and down to vacuum.  Then remove and soak in the bathtub in warm, soapy water and about a quarter-cup of TSP.  Use a microfiber cloth and swish lightly over the blinds while they're soaking.  Find a way to hang them outside with the slats open, and you will also be able to see any residue left from the bath, which you can wipe down easily.  Rinse and dry well.  If you dust your blinds frequently with a feather duster (my preference) or swiffer, they won't need to be washed very often at all.  Good luck!

  6. Hire a maid service or replace them with new blinds

  7. well you can do all the things already suggested BUT i had this same problem for yrs and finally switched to ALUMINUM BLINDS waaaay easier to clean because they don't collect nearly as much dust on them and when they do they are easier to clean i use a swifter sweeper hand duster with windex sprayed on them. :)  i don't miss my plastic blinds at all now! plus aluminum ones are more durable and keep out the light better imo. :) they cost a bit more but they are so worth it!
