  1. it is a long trip and if you want the boat to wait for you to arrive then you need to take a cruise line based transfer.. may cost a little but the fact that you will get to the ship and not left behind is well worth it..

  2. Tinkertoy has a good point.  This is a situation in which the cruise line transfer may be the best bet, whether or not it is more expensive.  Saving a few bucks might not be worth the anxiety and hassle.

But you can find more info and other opinions at CruiseCritic.com.  Click on "Boards" at the top of the page and then look for the "Ports of Call" board or your cruise line's board.

  3. I took the train, but this was part of a cruise/tour through Princess. They have there own train cars. It is not the cheapest, but certaintly is enjoyable instead of being on a stuffy bus for hours

  4. I suggest that you use the transfers provided by your cruise line.  Its a very long way from Anchorage to Seward;  about a 3 or 4 hour bus ride.  You are not likely to find a taxi or van that will take you that far for less or comparable price.  In addition, you do not want to miss your cruise waiting for a van to show up.  And if you use the cruise line they will take your luggage in Anchorage and you will not have to worry about it until it gets to your cabin.
