Best and worst things about your LE career

Question

Can those folks working in law enforcement please describe the top 3 best and top 3 worst aspects of your job for me? I'm really considering making the jump from my current career. I hope my upcoming ride-along shows me some of what I can expect.

     1.I get to be among the first people on the scene, wherever something is happening.

     2. I never know what I'll be doing next.

     3. I get paid to run to something, that others are running from...

...........I tried to think of some negative aspects of the job, but nothing substantial comes to mind.  It's a job, it's not always perfect, and it's not for everyone,  but it can be a lot of fun if you keep your head on straight.   Good luck!

Worst aspects

1. Dealing with people who claim their innocence, despite ALL evidence to the contrary.

2. People who expect special treatment because they "pay your salary" or "know the chief."

3. Failure of people to be responsible for their own actions (related to #1).

I would say everything else is a plus.
