Jr has all ready hit the pinnacle of his carer... Who else believes Jr has reached the pinnicle of his career?

Sr. was just getting started at the same age Jr is now. Now I am not saying or comparing the two but come on! To say someone is washed up just because they haven't won in a while? Come on! he is 3rd in points! Wins will come too. Let us not forget the competition is today what it wasn't then. Give the guy a break people. What are you going to say when he wins the cup? That NASCAR gave it to him?

Dale Earnhardt Jr has not yet reached the pinnacle of his career. He can take a wrecked piece of c**p and make it a top 5 or 10 finishing car. (He had to do it at DEI many times.)

Jr is a very talented driver with a gargantuan monkey on his back and he will emerge with his own legend..

AMEN!!!  Jr. has earned everything he has gotten so far.  He is a good driver and has had to go through a lot of other c**p just to get where he is today.  I believe that he will win the cup this year.  He has shown more determination and maturity in the past year than before.  How many other drivers have gone through what he has since Sr. died and now end up 3rd in the points.  Jr. will prevail.

Even when DEI was a better team, they have never been a real serious threat to produce a champion at the cup level.  Jr is running better than he ever has, for the most part, and will be in the mix of the next few chase runs.  We are only starting to see his true potential now, that person that said he already peaked is just a hater and not being objective at all.

All one has to do is look at the career of the guy just ahead of him in points, Jeff Burton. At one point Jeff went 5 yrs without a win, went from Roush to RCR and within a year or two his career was back on track.

Everyone has their opinions about drivers. He may have reached his peak, who knows? He has not won a race with Hendrick yet so you can not really argue against it, but you can't really say he has reached it either because he is doing well in points. I think we should wait till Homestead to make these assumptions. You may think he hasn't reached it, while others think he has. It's based on personal opinion.

In all honesty, however, with all the media attention he has, and the number of fans riding his back, he should have 2 or 3 championships by now (based on what people make it out to be)

That's just ridiculous, he's only a year older than Jimmie Johnson, and no one's saying that about him!

Junior is the Paris Hilton of Nascar.  The ONLY thing he has going for him is his last name...Period!  That is they only reason he is famous.  So, he is third in point. Has he won?  no.  Gordon led the points from practically beginning to end last year, and when it came to the chase, it didn't matter.  I'm tired of people saying Junior is the cream of Nascar because he is far from it.

Jr. is beginning is own career, free of the emotional struggles with the step-witch. He is a good driver, my favorite, and will win more championships. I admire his attitude, his passion, and the way he conducts himself during interviews and on the track.

Junior isn't even close to his peak. He had a lot of c**p to deal with since his Dad's death and I'm sure it wasn't pleasant. He's doin' somethin' right to be where he is in the standings. Give it time......he's Junior ...not Senior.

I think jr is doing the best he has in a long while - despite no wins yet. i think he would have done pretty good placing at dover if he had'nt been involved in that wreck. It would be smart for him  to make sure he places in as many top tens as he can - that way he is guaranteed a spot in the chase. Once he solidifies a spot in the chase, let er rip and go for broke.Hopefully though - he will get a win before then, but i will be happy if he just drives smart and makes it into the chase - still in top 3 or above. Notice he has'nt had any blown engines yet with the Hendricks equipment.
