Best area to live in San Fran using public transport?

Hello- Im an Aussie planning to move to San Fran,. Can i please have some advice as to what areas are best served by public transport? I will be commuting to the city for work...your advice is really appreciated. thanks

BART is all over SF and the bay area.

Look up BART on the web and you should be able to get all the information you need. BART, by the way, is Bay Area Rapid Transit...it's a subway/el...I've ridden on it many times.
