Well you can save your entire computer in disc but it will be a lot of them. You can also do a duo layer dvds they let u put more stuff in them. I got a external hard drive call My Book its pretty nice and i saved my entire computer but it was like $100. It all depends on the size of what u want to save. Some computers have the recovery (D): drive but like mine its too small to do a full backup. There are some programs on the web that let u back up ur computer to burn it in disc, you may want to do that i cant recommend one you need to find one yourself .

Acronis. Has got to be the simplest and best. Full back ups or partials. Entire partitions/drives or just a few folders/files. Back up to another drive or to a disc. Also does incremental backups. So you can create a base backup (right after a fresh install) then update it as the months go by. Can create your own restore discs as well.

get an external hard drive...depending on how much u need to back up...but u can get external hard drives that hold like 60-120gb
