  1. Adam's Morgan is the "hippest" place in DC so if you were not impressed there everywhere esle will be a challenge.  Near the Verizon Center are a few places.  IndiBlue can be pretty hopping after 9 ish when the restaurant transforms into a club.  It is pretty posh and $$.  Other wise recommend going to Union Station at 6pm and head upto New York.

    Cheers!

  2. H Street, NE.  The "Atlas District" as this area of D.C. is known is probably one of the most inaccessible areas in the city (you have to cab it from Union Station, and getting a cab back late at night from H Street is tough).  It is also an "up-and-coming" area, meaning it is still kind of ghetto and a bit scary.

That being said, it is probably the best-kept secret in D.C.  The area has some of the wildest, most fun bars in the city, and each one caters to a totally unique clientle.  Here are the links for some of them.  I highly recommend you check this area of the city out:

There are a couple more bars in the area I couldn't think of, but, like I said, check it out.  I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

  3. it depends what you like...

clubs-Fur, Ibizas, H20, LOVE, Ultrabar (mostly hiphop, reggae, latin, some techno depends on the days.)

  4. I happen to think Adams Morgan sucks (unless you're an 18yo frat boy), Georgetown is just OK, and Clarendon.... ugh.

Its hard to give you advice on that since I don't know anything about your interests.  Whats "best" for you may be horrible for me.. based on demographics- age, interests, etc, but I will give you a few of my favorites for folks of varied interests (as I have varied tastes myself):

Cafe Citron in Dupont Circle-Latin/Dance vibe- young, casual, international, lots of great dancing, and tons of fun-  very bad food.

Helix Lounge at Hotel Helix- Dupont/Logan Circle area-Upscale ambiance, cool music- young professional vibe- good food/ happy hour specials every day.

Marvins- U Street Area- casual, good soul type music/ small dancing area, has rooftop/outdoor smoking bar area, artsy scene, food is not the best.

Other really great spots are 18th Street Lounge, Play,  The Park, Local 16, and Andalu..

Try the Washingtonian's "After Hours" Blog and Happy Hour Finder  to find the right spot for you:

  5. Try the foggy botton area it has some very cool places.

  6. Don't know exactly what type of crowd/club you're searching for, but those around McPherson Square and Franklin Square (14th and K Streets NW) are gaining interest: Lima, K Street Lounge, The Park at Fourteenth, Tattoo Bar and Lotus.
