Question:

Best beaches in Puerto Rico???

My 2 friends and I are looking for a relaxing time. We have narrowed our choice in Puerto Rico between Condado beach or Isla Verde beach. Which is better??? I prefer beaches that are not as crowded, but at the same time totally deserted beaches would be kinda boring... Another important factor would be amount of watersports available (snorkeling/surfing/etc)

please, answer only if you have actually been to the beaches please. I am fully aware of what travel magazines and websites have to say between the 2 beaches~

I Hope your fine.. enjoy mi island!! ba bye!!

  3. My favorites are "The Millenium" which is the new name for El Escambron and Pinones,  In San Juan. Very calm clear waters.

  4. Playa Sucia (Dirty Beach, ironically) at Cabo Rojo lighthouse is awesomely beautiful, its breathtaking, its not so crowded, because admission to it has been limited by the natural resources department, its a natural reserve and a historic site as well, because of the lighthouse. Cabo Rojo is about 3hrs away from San Juan, but a visit to Cabo Rojo and Lajas area is worth the trip, the Bioluminiscent bay of Parguera (Lajas) is quite near. Cabo Rojo is located at the Southwest corner. The best times to get to the beach are 9am-10am on a weekday. The sooner you get there the better, plus there's other places near the area. Gilligan's Island, off the coast of Guanica, you'll need to take a boat, in order to get there, but its a very famous destination. Also, if you want to get to Playa Sucia, you'll need a 4wd vehicle, its pretty hard to get to it, but thats why is so beautiful and uncrowded. If you are in Puerto Rico, you must visit Cabo Rojo, the lighthouse is probably one of the most beautiful scenarios you'll ever see, it has cliffs and the view of the caribbean sea, is priceless.

  5. I will reccomend u to visit Condado beach. This is because it is close to the hotels, there are security(well the last time that I went there(06) I saw some guys from security. On the other hand, Isla Verde beach is relatively close to Pinones an area where are people selling food. That is the part that I don't like at all cuz there were weird people I don't if its me or what but I don't like the kind of people who visit that beach. Some of them look like if they were from a ghetto so I don't know. So, in simply words I strongly reccomend you the Condado Beach, Flamenco Beach in Culebra or Rincon beach if you want to REALLY surf

  6. Isla Verde & Condado beach are both in San Juan & they are fairly close to each other, so you can always check out both. They are both nice, but I would personally choose Isla Verde as the best in San Juan. Ocean Park is quite nice too.

Also if you really want the best beaches Puerto Rico has to offer, then I suggest Flamenco beach in Culebra. There is a cheap ferry that leaves from Fajardo, but if you are strapped for time then you can take the ferry from San Juan which costs more. Anyway you will enjoy either way :)

  7. I suggest Flamenco beach in Culebra. BEST BEACH IN WORLD BY TRAVEL CHANNEL IN 2000.
