Last FM is a good place to start for variety, or 7global their site is looking pretty good these days at half the price of Amazon MP3 and Itunes.

Don't go P2P even though it is totally free, you have to rely on the person your connecting to the other end no matter how good your Net connection is either.

In the UK it also eats your bandwidth don't know how exactly but it piggybacks your connection to add more speed to the network as a whole, and in the day when most ISP's love to whack a 40gb/month download limit your just wasting the allowance.

Luckily I have unlimited but still not worth the speed loss when trying to multi task.

Try Last FM to begin with or Yahoo Music
