Best birth control that doesnt make u gain weight?

i had my daughter almost 3 mos. ago n have been taking loestrin fe for 2 weeks now. I have gained 3 lbs...i m looking for a better bc pill that has a natural diaretic if possible...or a bc that doesnt cause weight gain so i can ask my doc to switch pills....thanks

The mini pill..are you breast feeding?

Edit: well the mini pill is great if you are breast feeding because it has not estrogen..but you can still take it you will not gain weight with it.

Well, I was on Ortho-Tri-Cyclin .. and I actually lost 5 lbs. when I started taking it. BUT it failed and I got pregnant and gained 68 LBS! lol. So, you don't gain weight with Ortho Tri Cyclin if you take it properly =]

If the Ortho-Tri-Cyclin LO helped you maintain your weight, then the regular Ortho-Tri-Cyclin might help you lose weight. I lost 5 lbs. when I orginally started taking it (years ago) .. and then after my son was born, I went back on it and instantly lost 5 lbs. again. It has more hormone than the LO, so maybe that is why. I've never tried the LO...

I don't know if there's a BC pill that can help you lose weight, but look into the hormone free methods.  I have used a diaphragm and I was going to use a copper IUD, but ended up with a Cesarean and I just had my tubes tied while they were in there.

I had nothing but weight gain with the hormone type birth control.  I used the pill and the shot, and I gained and gained like I was pregnant.  Consider asking about IUDs and diaphragms/cervical caps.

Have you looked into Fertility Awareness Method?  It's not the same as Natural Family Planning or the rhythm method.  There's a book that you read, and you take a moment every day to determine whether or not you're fertile.  No drugs, nothing invasive and no weight gain.
