  1. All travel guides are pretty much the same. Their principle use is in getting a general feel for the place and what you might want to see.

    I think the more youth oriented guides (Let's Go, Rough Guide) are better but its not really a big difference.

    You have plenty of time to prepare and plan so read more than one.

    While you're at it, I think its very useful to read something set in Paris like Hemingway's "A Moveable Feast" or even Art Buchwald's "I'll Always have Paris."
