Best brand amplifiers?

I plan on purchasing 2, 12" Alpine SWR-1242D (TYPE R) subs, I would like some suggestions on what brand or type of amp to purchase that would provide very loud and clear bass. I'm not trying to spend a fortune but I would still like any recommendations you have.

  1. any amp that has the necessary RMS wattage @ the correct impedance (ohms) at the amp and is also CEA-compliant---which means that the amps have been tested and produce or exceed the advertised RMS wattage with minimum distortion (distortion is the main cause of speaker damage)

here are the top CEA-compliant brands

    Alpine (highly recommend)

    Bazooka (don't like their subs)

    Blaupunkt (don't like their subs)

    Clarion

    Eclipse

    Infinity (highly recommend)

    JBL

JL Audio (very good but over priced)

    JVC

    Kenwood (don't like their subs)

Kicker (the best in my opinion)

    Memphis

    MTX (highly recommend)

    Orion

    Pioneer

    Polk Audio (highly recommend)

    PPI

    Rockford Fosgate (highly recommend)

    Sony

but i always get Kicker amps because they come with "birth certificates" that show how much wattage it pushed out when it was individually tested) and its ALWAYS higher than the advertised wattage

here are some good places to look http://www.sonicelectronix.com/ or http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/Shop/...

its a 4ohm DVC sub so you can get impedances of 1 or 4ohms at the amp depending on your wiring (heres a diagram http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer... the lower the final impedance the lower the sound quality but the easier/cheaper it is to power

  2. Have a look at H I F O N I C S they have some mean amps and will do more than what you want but they are a little pricey i think, but might be in your price range perhaps lol

  3. those are some nice subs! they are loud, well my friend has 2 of those and they are driven by a 1000 watt db drive mono amp

and its loud! but db is a bit expensive, try rockford fosgate, memphis,or even alpine, but if you can, try to find a mono amp that is bridgable so you can get the most power possible.  oh btw im jealous, alpines are sweet
