Question:

Best brand of shoes for volleyball?

My daughter is starting volleyball this week. She is in the 7th grade. What is the best brand of shoes to buy her? I would like to get her a pair of shoes that will support her feet. I would like something in the mid-price range because she is growing and I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on shoes that she will outgrow. Thanks so much for your suggestions.

  1. mizunos and asicics are good but also try adidas volleyball shoes i have them in dark blue and they work sooo well they're 80 dollars though so i don't know if you're willing to spend that much...

  2. mizuno are what i have been wearing since i started playing and so far i have never had a problem with them

they are easy to move around n and are really comfortable

also they last a long time

just remeber that volleyball shoes are ment to be worn on the court only so dont go out for a jog in them

    it will ruin the bottoms

hope she has a lot of fun :)

  3. Running shoes=sprained ankles.

I prefer Asics.  Asics makes some great volleyball shoes as mentioned above.

You can find some of the older shoes much cheaper if you want to save some money.  And you are correct.  Her shoes might not even last the season.  Not due to falling apart, but because her feet are still growing.

  4. definitely mizuno. It is an actual volleyball shoe. It totally works.

  5. ASICSS def i def like my asics more than ne other one of my volleyball shoess

  6. I have played volleyball for 7 years, and the Asics court shoes are the only brand and line I have bought since my coach made me get them second year.

DO NOT GET RUNNING SHOES!!!!!!!!!!! Running shoes are made for forward movement, and are much narrower than court shoes. Court shoes are made for short distance and quick back and forth movements like the ones you have to make on the, er, court!

Asics also makes 4 lines specifically for volleyball! Link here -

I prefer the Sensei line, but have your girl try them on and see what fits her foot best!. Good luck!

  7. asics are the best.

  8. asics, mizuno, or nike volleyball shoes are all good.

eastbay.com has a great selection in the $40-$60 price range.

  9. If hundred"S" is your upper-limit, you would have plenty of choices... such as Mizuno Women's Wave Lightning 3 (size 9)

    $89.99 Now $59.99

So far some good and affortable shoes are made by Mizuno, Asics, and Addidas... Asics have some older versions that are around $40, and the most expensive Muzino is about $100... but as you said a 7th grader does not need "very" good volleyball shoes, they only need to focus on their fundamentals, and grow up :).

    Try online at http://www.eastbay.com/catalog/advancedS...

    or http://www.sportsauthority.com/category/...

By the way, Mizuno and newer Asics are the best. They have designs to protect your toes and help you with easier lateral/side movement, besides making shoes lighter, providing better in-shoes air flow (better breathing), and helping you jump higher.

Running shoes could help you go back and forth, but not from side to side. Some court shoes and running shoes could hurt you when you try to roll to your side and dig up...

Probably only volleyball shoes were designed to have the idea that you will frequently roll to the floor while most other sports shoes would try to keep you "up and running".

    Hope this helps.

  10. The asics Shoes are pretty popular amongst volleyball players. i think those would be the best.

  11. Oasics and Mizunos definitely!

  12. asics i just got a pair i like them cuz there really light so you can move around a lot quicker!

  13. hi i have been playing volleyball since 4th grade and i am now going into 8th so i can tell you what your daughter will want if you daughter is playing school volleyball any tenni shoe is fine but if she wants to look like a real player asics are great. price ranges from $50-130 depending on how ling you want them to last. but i play club volleyball where i travel all accross america and play other teams my age everyone on my team must have matching shoes so if that is the case get the same shoes as everyone else. on my clum team we used top notch mizuno volleyball shoes designed for fast transitions (moving off and on the net) and great for club but not for school because transitions arnt used as often. but u said you want shoes to support her feet and mizuno have hardly any support they are flat ant hurt you feet kind of so not good for school but asics have awsome support most comfortable volleyball shoes. actually the asics shoes i use for school volleyball are asics running shoes because they have support they do have asics shoes made for volleyball but like mizuno they have no support i have talked to my coaches about this and they say that asics running are GREAT for volleyball bottom line VOLLEYBALL SHOES HAVE NO SUPPORT so i recomend asics running shoes thats what i use for school and recreational volleyball.

  14. i like the adidas brand running shoe. They are not too expensive and they last forever. I went through two seasons of volleyball with mine and they are still my favorite sneaker

  15. Why don't you try out Nike shoes. They're generally kinda expensive but you can try checking out an outlet. just go to http://ipthing.com/deab58 to see an outlet in your area by putting in your zip code
