  1. Everyone has their own preference....some of my favs are lib tech, gnu, burton, neversummer, and nitro.  oh and just to correct the guy above me, palmer isn't on the cutting edge, and they aren't the best, i've known 3 people that have ridden them and they all have broken b/c the board is too weak. one guy focused his on a rail, another snapped his in half buttering a landing on 360 and the third hit  a tree and it put a crack all the way down the nose of the board to the front binding.   Their honeycomb design is flawed b/c it isn't strong enough to withstand high speeds, so the board chatters like a mo fo....and palmer didn't invent rocker technology...that was lib tech.....so...they might have been ahead of the curve about 4-5 years ago, but their quality of products is sub par....

  2. A good size for a freeride board for you would be around a 150. But are you sure you want a freeride percific board rather than an all mountain board?. Freeride percific boards are designed to be ridden at high speeds and are not suitable for begineers more intermediate to advanced riders. If you mean by freeriding you like to cruise around rather than do park/freestyle riding, and are new to snowboarding you would be better off with an all mountain board as it will be more forgiving to ride. If you email me your level of riding ie begineer, intermediate, advanced etc then i can recommend some boards that will suit you.

Intresting comments by some of the guys above regarding Palmer. Ive only heard good things about there freeride boards myself but maybe they have gone downhill over the last couple of years like what happened with brands like Morrow etc. Im not sure on that one really?, but id imagine if you are after a freeride percific board they would still be one of the better brands out there for that type of board.

Also to the poster who recommended the Atomic Hatchet. Although it is a good board its an all mountain freestyle board so not really what she would be after, and more importantly its a mans board ,maybe your thinking of the Atomic fallen Angel which is the womens version of the Hatchet

  3. I have been freeriding for about 10 years in the north east.  There are many great boards out there right now.  I ride a Palmer now, but I have used K2, Salomon, and Burton.  The best board is the one that you pay the least for.  The original price says a lot.  Most boards that cost the same will preform the same.  So look for a deal.

P.S. Palmer is on the cutting edge of board design at this time.  All other companies are using technology that Palmer invented, even Burton.

    Happy riding!

  4. I recomend the Nitro Fate.

  5. i freeride too and im the same size so id reccomend the Hatchet made by Atomic. its a great board that i got recently iv tried it out and love it its awsome. its got a slimewall to help u out on rails, its a twin tip, its got like everything

  6. haha

i disagree with just about everyone here

you couldn't ask  a better question or a more debatable at that

ive been snowboarding for 8 years and please if your a true boarder you will not buy Burton

theres this group called Don't Do It

and basically were trying to get people to stop buying from the big companies who make there boarders in sweat boxes.

Lib technology is good but pretty dang expensive. Rome is excellent and thats what i ride

    Flow,battalion, ride smaller companies

K2 Atomic Burton Fourm   all them are big companies and usually arent to good of freestyle

    Rome is 250 - 500

    Battalion is about 300-500

Ride is high but nice at about 350-550

    Flow is nice at 300-450

    Hope this helps

  7. I've got to agree w/ the first person (to answer)...

The Nitro Fate is probably the best womens board ever....

    I recently got that board...

and my snowboarding was instantly improved....

It's a pretty stiff board though...so not any good in the park...

and it's directional....so not easy to snowboard switch either

But...it's a great all mountain board.....

    and you get instant reaction....

if you want the board to go one way..it'll go that way....

    not even kidding....

and I hardly ever catch an edge anymore...

b/c the board gives you amazing feedback...

and for board length...just measure from the floor up to your chin, in cm....

  8. Burton. They are the best.
