Question:

Best buy car audio installation?

I am buying a car audio cd deck but in about a year I am going to sell the car. And I want to switch it back to the factory.

They are charging $50, is that how much it would cost else where? Including the kits and everything. I like the products but I don't like the people there.

So if Best Buy installs it do I get my factory stuff back? I also want to know what they do with all those parts.

Some of the parts I have are a little damaged but it is still able to function properly.

  1. That's pretty much the standard price for a deck install if you're not buying the unit there with the free install gimmick.

Generally, when they do an install, you will get your factory stuff back.  (They'd rather not add to their garbage when they can just put it back into your car.)  If it's of concern to you, then obviously stress that if you choose to have your install done there.

  2. don't do it

i went there with my cousin to get a radio that i was going to install

but upon buying the unit they said free installation

so instead of myself installing i told him to take advantage of the free installation which would save me some work

but of course here came the add ons which included a wiring harness and dash kit (dash kit not necessary)

2 months later he decided to upgrade to an amp

so i pulled the radio out and they didn't even use any of the parts they charged for

no harness they just cut the wires

    and no dash kit

just go out and buy the harness and dash kit and it will probably run you about 40 bucks but  at least you know its done right
