  1. Call your home owners insurance. File a claim for damages and let your insurance company take them to town. More than likely even if you fix your self you will need to get an attorney to get any reciprocity from them. If you are contacting the store you will not get any help. Go to the store in person with an appointment with the GM. Have photos of the damage and make sure to not settle for anything less than. Total repair and additional compensation. You will only get Corporate to listen by filing suit. Some one holds the purse strings and the line" we can't do anything" is total B.S. Make sure not to escalate to legal action until you have exhausted the in your face approach to the GM.

However some media attention would prove helpful, contact a local news outlet and tell them your story.

The next best thing you can do is tell EVERYONE your experience so that big blue will know that this level of service is unacceptable.

Just be glad the Geek Squad was not recording you in the shower like up in Minneapolis. MN Just a few months ago.

  2. You need to just go to the store and talk to the store manager. They will issue a damage claim IF indeed it was the installers fault. From there it will be handed by Best Buy's insurance agency.

  3. Always ask to speak to a manager first before anyone else. Go to the district manager not just the store manager.  Contact corporate and discuss the issue with them. Take pictures show them the damage.

Always try to maintain your composure and be polite/very polite. Getting rude and making demands only makes it worse. Contact a lawyer and have them draft up a letter and have him/her sign it. That me be all it takes. But then again you have to compare the costs, a lawyer might be more than the repair to your drywall.

Unfortunately, it may cost you more to go after the repairs than the actual repairs themselves.

DO NOT FILE A CLAIM ON YOUR HOME OWNERS INSURANCE sorry 42. I recently saw something on the news about home insurance. Once you make a claim you are flagged and can get refused insurance you could even get dropped by your insurance company. Do not even inquire with them about the issue. It raises flags also. It does not matter what it is. Only use it for things you can't afford to fix like a tornado or a sewer back up or hail damaged roof.

  4. I do home theater and satellite installs, you wouldn't believe how many times I have been called to fix Best Buy's eff-ups.  Last one was a week ago, guy had a BOSE system which I don't like anyway, that's beside the point though.  They actually installed the center channel 10' above the top of the 63" samsung, same thing with the front L/R speakers and had them angled upwards.  They told the customer it was for better acoustics b/c they had vaulted ceilings.  Wow.  They had the surround L/R criss-crossed,  and had not one single thing hooked up to Bose's receiver.  On top of that they didn't even calibrate the system so the audio was a full 2 seconds off from the picture.  I can't believe they even paid for it.  Best Buy charges up front for all this and I see why,  I do the install sit down and calibrate everything, show the customer how to work their new remote and watch half of a movie with them.  Then I give them an invoice, half the time they are so anxious to play with their new toy they don't even read the bill.  Some of them throw me a cool tip and I'm gone.  But it kind of makes me happy b/c after fixing the botched Best Buy install and blowing the owners away with their over-priced BOSE system, I made 300 bucks for about 2-3 hours work and got 6 referrals for new installs.  So I guess as long as Best Buy keeps s******g up, I'll be in business that much longer.  I believe BB only charges like 199 for an install, it all comes down to getting what you pay for.  From the few times I have had to deal with them, I'm pretty sure you would be better off going to home depot and getting a can of spackle.  Good luck man.

  5. Best Buy is not Best Buy$$$.Ggeek Squad is just  a bunch of teenagers who say they had training.
