We had a Kodak V500 and it sucked. We mostly take pictures of our baby and friends and family. I heard Cannon and Olympus have some good ones, but I'm not sure. I'd like to get something that is easy to upload to the computer too. Thanks for the help!

  1. The all time winner bargain compact digital camera is the Canon 7.1 megapixel PowerShot SD1000 [not the IS] 7.1 with an added 2- gig memory card which when set in the manual mode for "Vivid" colors and videos at 30 fps in 320 dpi format provides killer images and videos. It currently sells for $160 at Sears:

    Good luck!

  2. Canon makes a variety of small digital cameras that are just great and the majority of them are under $300.  I would recommend Canon Powershot ELPH cameras.

  3. You can get very good point-and-shoot digital cameras for under $300 now.  Just stick to a reputable company like Canon, Sony, Olympus, etc.
