Best car to buy Toyota Matrix, Nissan Versa, Mazda6

I am looking to get a new or used Toyota Matrix, Nissan Versa, or Mazda 6. I am a beginning driver so handling and reliability are important to me. If anyone has owned any of these vehicles and can give me some pros and cons I would appreciate it.

So far my opinions of the cars are:

Toyota - Great company, safe, reliable, looks alright, handles well, lots of space. Lacks on power though.

Nissan - Roomy inside yet easy to park because its really small, safe with side air bags, handles alright [not amazing] power okay.

Mazda - Looks beautiful. Handles great. visibility not as good as the other cars and feels small inside.

Thanks for any answers in advance, I am racking my brain with this one.

  1. I'd go with the Matrix, steel timing chain.Versa my daughter bought one 24 mpg.Thats all it will do.

Mazda uses rubber timing belts which cost a arm and a leg,to change.

  2. 'Aaah'.. one of the hardest question to answer.  Please keep in mind all the answers you'll receive here could be based solely on opinions which could be biased or what not.  I think the most important question to ask yourself is what type of tasks will you be doing and what kind of driver you are.  Since you are a new driver, the best method is to look for a used vehicle instead of a brand new one.  Insurance rates/premiums are higher if you purchase a brand new car instead of a used one.  And the statistics for accidents are higher for beginner drivers.  From my experience, I think all drivers experience at least one automotive accident in their lifetime whether it was his/her fault or from another person.  So if you get involved in an accident on your new vehicle, prepare to see your insurance premium to hike up like crazy. I've driven a Mazda6 coupe before as a rental car and I felt pretty satisfied with the performance and handling, however the steering did feel a bit linear.  However, the Nissan Versa has been rated for being a very roomy car despite it's appearance.  As for the Toyota Matrix, I don't have much to say about it other than the general views that Toyota do manufacture vehicles which last for a long time.

Every car will have its own pros and cons.  One can have good handling with bad performance while the other could be opposite.  I really can't tell you which car to buy since that would not be a great idea at all.  My best advice for you is to do more research on the cars and find one thats best suited for your needs while providing all adequate safety measures.

  3. the Versa is the worst of these choices, let's say it's limited.

they Mazda6 is fun to drive but small & less practical

the Toyota matirx is great car but you can buy the Pontiac Vibe for thousands of dollars less. They have the same running gear just different badges on top.

if you want small get a Honda Fit, avoid the Toyota Yaris, chevy aveo

  4. all horrible cars

    nissans are horrible

toyota are alright but not as good as honda

    and mazda sucks

    sedan honda civic

hatchback VW golf or GTI Honda fit
