Best champagne?

Question

i need to get a wedding gift for a couple who has everything. everything on their registry has been bought and the wedding (400 people) is still 1 1/2 months away. I was thinking a great bottle of champagne, like dom perignon. what is a good year? or, any other suggestions? i want to spend around $100-$150.

Veuve Cliquot La Grande Dame   or   Perrier Jouet Fleur....  They're both in the appropriate price range, the Veuve Cliquot being slightly more expensive, and both are excellent and would make a wonderful gift.

try to find a bottle of 1990 verve cliquot..it is truly awesome :)

Save your money and skip the Dom - it's way too overpriced for what it is (it used to be worth the cost, but now...no).

Opt for a Pol Roger Cuvee Winston Churchill.

this is the best chapagne I have ever had!!!!

Its about $60 a bottle, for a small and I think the larger ones are jsut a bit more.

nah go for the cooks, its only like $6 a bottle, but for that much u can get 100 bottles and get everyone messed up :)  lol jk, dom perignon is always a winner, as far as year, i dunno, last i had was a couple years ago, was a lil over $100 and was... hmmm i keep thinking 98. its probably gonna b hard to find too many diff years. go with the dom and just go to a store and see wat they have. like i said u can never go wrong with dom perignon

Any bottle of Dom will be a wonderful treat; if you go to a specialty wine store they should be able to help you with vintages; if memory serves much of France had a heat wave that killed a bunch of people in either 2003 or 2004; the impact on grapes could be interesting.

The other thought you could do is get them a gift certificate for a nice dinner at wherever they're going for their honeymoon; they'll have a very nice dinner and think of you!
