The Boat Yard in Leigh on Sea (just up the road) is fairly exclusive and quite pricey but sometimes they have set menus on which are fab, say 2 courses for £14.95. Give them a call.

That's a really difficult one. I've been to Southend-on-Sea many times and there are loads of restaurants, especially along the seafront. I suppose it all depends on what type of food you are looking for. But, believe me, you wont be short of choices.
