Question:

Best / cheapest health insurance for single divorced mom?

I live in the Indiana. Does anyone know if I can get help from the state with my health insurance? I've got two kids who are covered by their dad, and my job is considered part time, although I work 44 hours a week (go figure, I work for the gov't.) so I'm not eligible for insurance through them.

Any health insurance advice would be helpful ... the cheaper the better right now. I'm on a tight budget.

  1. Ultimately, you are the one who determines the affordability of your health insurance plan by deciding how much you will participate in sharing the cost of your health care with your insurance company.

You need a trusted adviser to help you through the process of purchasing health insurance so that you understand what you are purchasing. Some may suggest going on line to get a quote but you probably already know that there is much more to health insurance than price.

If you choose a plan that covers everything i.e. doctors office visits, prescription drugs, preventative health benefits, maternity coverage as well as low deductibles and low copays your monthly premiums will be significant.

On the other hand if you are young and healthy and rarely use the health care system you could consider a plan that covers only the major health catastrophe which will result in a relatively low monthly premium. You then can use the monthly premium savings to pay for the occasional doctor visit and still come out ahead.

Check with the agent that writes your home or auto insurance he/she can provide you a health insurance proposal that takes into account your budget and health situation.

Use the Internet to educate yourself but use an agent to purchase the coverage.

  2. its better if you  look compare prices  and coverage yourself . Here is the blog you can use  http://healthinsurance007.blogspot.com

to find out  which  company offers cheapest insurance  in your area

    Hope it helps :)

  3. Check this site www.thehealthbenefits.net  Dental plan starts from $19.95 for entire family.  I have been with them for a while and I love it.  I have a delta dental in Ca. they say it's the best, but it's not.  So check out the site and I hope this helps

  4. With health insurance you get what you pay for, so if you get a cheap policy it may not have the benefits that you want. You should visit a local agent that works with all the major companies in your area. The agent can explain what benefits are included in the policies and, more importantly, what is not included.

As for help from the state you must qualify based on low income and assets. Here is the IN Medicaid website for information: http://www.in.gov/fssa/ompp/index.htm

  5. I cant personally give you a quote BUT i think http://www.COMPAREusINSURANCE.com will help you . . . let me know !
