  1. I'm not sure your question is valid for Colombia.  Most Colombians are mestizo, mixed race, and they don't think much in racial terms.  There are more blacks along the Caribbean coast then other parts of the country and Cartegena is the largest city.  Santa Marta might be better and the islands off the coast (nearer Panama) are supoose to be very nice, although I have not been there myself.

  2. The largest black community reside in Nariño, Choco and Cuaua departments. However, anywhere will do as there is no such thing as outright descrimination.

Cali is an excellent place to live in, however Medellin and Bogota are better off.

    Welcome!

  3. Anywhere along the coast / Carribean.

  4. Anywhere!

I'm black born and raised in Bogota, Colombia and it was great. Colombia doesn't really have a racist community at all.

  5. We don't care about your skin color. You can live wherever you want, you can do wahtever you want, and no one would say anything about your color. Cali is the thrid city in Colombia, and they have a large black community. In Cartagena, Santa Marta, and all around the coast most of the people are black, but if you want a bigger city, where you can find a job and live, try Bogota (the capital), you can find so many things to do here, we don't have racial problems (most of the people)

  6. Colombia is not the US. They don't have those problems there. You'll be welcome anywhere.

Most black people live on the coasts. Most people of South American Indian descent live in the Andean Mountains. But not everywhere, either. Mostly in the south of the country and around Bogota.

In any case, nobody will care what your skin color is.

Maybe if you're green with little yellow dots they'll look at you twice.. Just a joke.

There are more important things to consider when deciding where to live, than the color of your skin.

What city you choose depends on what you like and what your plans are.

Bogota is huge, chaotic but has everything you can expect from any big city... good and bad.

There are other cities that are smaller, probably easier to handle.

The weather varies a lot in the different regions.  Some places are very cold and some are very hot all year round. Some places get a lot or rain, some hardly any.

All those things, and many more, you need to consider.

Forget the color of your skin. Education is far more important.
