  1. id say manchester

its got all the fun of london but much cheaper and much smaller so its easier to get around

its also very flat so its easy to walk from place to place - try going to sheffield after manchester and youll appreciate how flat it is lol (cos sheffield is very hilly)

its great for clubs and live music, great for sports (commonwealth games facilities) and great for shopping and eating out and theatre

manchester uni is the biggest in the country, and manchester has the highest concentration of students in western europe.  all this means its a very student-oriented city

    manchester has it all!

  2. newcastle, sheffield, manchester, nottingham maybe, my choices anyway, heard there good especially newcastle.

  3. I never went to university myself, but based on reports from friends and colleagues who did, Newcastle sounds like one of the best, plus maybe Bristol and Liverpool.

I'm sure there's a book you can get which rates all the universities in the UK for quality of life etc. Check your school/college library.

EDIT: Oh yeah, although I didn't go to uni in the end, I did visit three while I was doing my A-levels with an eye to going to them: York seemed very nice and extremely friendly, but was a bit quiet; Glasgow I didn't like it at all, it seemed really cliquey and very unfriendly; and Liverpool came across as the best of the three for social life and seemed the most fun, but maybe isn't quite as academically respected. Of the ones I visited, on balance I'd have picked York.

  4. London is expensive I know but it's got the most stuff going on.

  5. Well, Nottingham is known as "the students' city", so i'd have to go with that! But really any city in england will have lots for students to do.

  6. My hubby did his undergrad and masters at Mad-chester and loved it.

  7. Nottttingham!

  8. London, Glasgow and Edinburgh are my top tips.

Most university cities have good facilities for students. Plenty of fun clubs and shopping. Its all about what you want.

    Ask yourself

do you want to be in a cosmo hub - London

do you want culture and good food - Edinburgh

do you want a glittering club life - Glasgow

do you want to be at the coast - Bristol & Newport

do you want to be near home

do you want o be close to Aunt Sara's

do you want to be close to the girlfriend/boyfriend

It's all about what lifestyle you want for yourself.
