  1. it depends on what you plan to do.

if you want high street shopping Dublin or Belfast if your going the north.

If you want senery Kerry or Wiclow ....or any county other than Dublin as theres not much really.

If yo want a mix Galways your best bet

  2. Dublin is very nice, but it's not the 'real' Ireland, it still feels very English for all that it's the capital of the Republic of Ireland - even native Dubliners have told me this.

I think Galway is probably a good bet, and Cork, both are very nice cities.

Ireland is not really a 'city' nation, given than we have just over 4.1 million people in the Republic, which is not really a whole lot. It's still very much a rural, agricultural nation and to really get the feel of the place, I'd advise spending more time in the smaller towns and even in the countryside, if you can.

  3. Dublin, and also see Belfast - the two biggest in Ireland and N. Ireland respectively. Also see some small towns - cities aren't all there is, and it is a small country, easy to see a lot of it.

  4. Galway is best for tourists. Take a trip to Salt hill aswell. It's a 5min bus-ride away from the centre. Dublin is very crowded wheras Galway has the city, the beach at salthill and the countryside if you want it.

  5. Dublin has it all.

Easy to get around, tons of things to do, pretty diverse in cultures, etc etc...  So Much to Do!!!!

You can do touristy things, visit historical places, see sporting events, see shows, go to a concert, dine at tons of places, go to the park (Phoenix Park---HUGE Park) or simply hang out with the locals.

It's the biggest city in Ireland and the capital.

  6. Small problem- Drogheda isn't a city......

Galway is a very popular city  - beautiful - near the sea (salthill) good night life - dublin is a great city- good shopping and nightlife (temple bar)  - cork is my favourite city- maybe as its the one i visit most frequently- i love shopping  here and- the night life isnt bad either!

    enjoy your stay

  7. Dublin but I agree with Galway, very nice city.

Dont just see the citys, some of the towns are really quaint. You could base yourself in a city and travel through the day on the train.

    Have a good trip...

  8. Dublin cuz menat to be full of polish ppl

  9. Cork! And Dublin's fair city!

  10. DUBLIN!! Woo!! People here are gonna be incredibly biased tho.

  11. I suppose it depends on what you are looking for,but most cities have a varied range on on-going entertainment, so check out a few on the web.

  12. Cork is the City i like!!

have fun in Ireland it is great

  13. Drogheda alll the way!!!! we have evertything here its great

  14. Galway is easily the best city in Ireland! Cork, Belfast and Derry are all worth a look (In that order). I'd avoid Dublin, or limit your time there to 1/2 days. Its extortionate and unfriendly (like most capitals).

  15. Its not a city but visit Westport. Its a little town on the western coast of the country. Just 1 and a half hours from Galway too, which is, by far and away the best city in Ireland.

  16. Galway esp now coming up in next few weeks, film festivel, Arts Festival,  and the very popular  Galway Races,  7 days of great horse racing,,,,  at this time of year the buzz around Galway is unbelievable,    as i always say Galway not too big or too small  and the beach 10 min from city center,,, have fun

  17. Dublin

  18. Dublin! plenty to do and see, great nightlife.

  19. Derry    or   Donegal  :)
